Referendum Management
"Ya' gotta do what you're good at."
At Barcelo&Company we've perfected the art of developing a public consensus around public policy issues. In its formal clothes, this effort is most likely to be a referendum.
With increasing frequency legislatures, county commissions, and other public bodies turn over to the stockholders the final decision on controversial and difficult issues - constitutional amendment, public policy, or taxation and spending.
The referendum becomes the Concert Hall for our symphony of strengths:
- public opinion research - for feasibility testing, offer configuration, and message design and management,
- planning design - to shape the resulting effort,
- message design - to craft the offer that the public wants to buy,
- focus group research - to test-market appeals to particular constituencies,
- large group processes - if needed to craft town hall sessions, rallies, and the like,
- grass-roots - to carry the message to streets (and front doors!), and
- training - to develop and standardize the Speakers' Bureau around the message to be delivered.
It should be noted that Barcelo&Company has lost only three referenda in its history. (see accomplishments)
