We have facilitated literally hundreds of focus group and leadership sessions aimed at providing qualitative research and strategic direction, particularly in public/private partnerships and in efforts aimed at improving public education in Florida.
Although the work that Barcelo&Company performs for corporate clients remains strictly confidential, a number of recent engagements are in the public domain. The engagements listed below all serve as models for effectiveness within the special context of that client.
Designed and coordinated the initial strategic planning session of the newly-formed Jacksonville Airport Authority.
Provided strategic planning facilitation for two years to the Florida Economic Development Council.
Provided strategic facilitation services to the Council of Community College Presidents of the Florida Community Colleges Association.
Provided strategic design services to the Florida Children's Campaign and the Center for Florida's Children including:
Mr. Barcelo assisted in the design of a public/private partnership aimed at focusing the attention of Duval County citizens on initiatives relating to children's services.
Provided organization and strategic design services to the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Foundation in its efforts to develop The Alliance for WorldClass Education in support of local public education improvement efforts spearheaded by the Superintendent.
Mr. Barcelo also served as a member of the original design team of the Florida Chamber of Commerce's WorldClass Strategy. He helped guide the design of the nationally-recognized WorldClass Academy model of public engagement facilitating initial local planning efforts in eight Florida counties and in successfully moderating dozens of high-profile sessions throughout Florida attended by business leaders educational professionals and education reform activists.
